This program is built for middle schoolers who are behind, struggling with foundational gaps, or just need a structured push before the new school year. It is not a generic enrichment program — the curriculum is pulled directly from what their actual teachers want them to know going into the next grade.

The topics covered in this program were built in direct conversation with the heads of the math and English departments at Maimonides — the teachers who will actually be teaching these kids next year. They told us what struggling students need most heading into each grade. That is exactly what we teach.
Going into 6th Grade
- Fractions — what they actually mean, not just the mechanics
- Mixed numbers and decimals with real-life application
- Multiplication fluency and long division
- Whole number operations
- Order of operations (positive numbers)
- Word problems — reading comprehension meets math
Going into 7th & 8th Grade
- Everything in 6th grade, plus negative numbers
- Long division with decimals
- Exponents up to 3rd power
- Solving equations and inequalities
- Graphing and finding points of intersection
- Percents, proportions, and exponent rules

- Meaningful annotations — summarizing, setting, character, theme
- Text-to-self, text-to-world, text-to-text connections
- RACE writing framework (guided)

- Independent RACE responses
- Writing full body paragraphs

Noah is a senior at YULA High School and a Maimonides alumni who has been tutoring middle school students in the community for over two years. He manages a small team of experienced tutors under the Top-Tier Tutors name, all vetted and trained to work with struggling students. Noah built this summer program directly from conversations with the heads of the math and English departments at Maimonides, stays in contact with students' teachers throughout the year, and runs every intake evaluation himself to make sure each student gets the right plan from day one.

Every student starts with a 30-minute Math & English evaluation followed by a 30–45 minute parent debrief. You get a topic-by-topic breakdown of where your child stands, what they need to work on, and a specific recommendation for the program. This is included before any sessions begin.
