Who Is This For?

This program is built for middle schoolers who are behind, struggling with foundational gaps, or just need a structured push before the new school year. It is not a generic enrichment program — the curriculum is pulled directly from what their actual teachers want them to know going into the next grade.

Curriculum Built From the Source

The topics covered in this program were built in direct conversation with the heads of the math and English departments at Maimonides — the teachers who will actually be teaching these kids next year. They told us what struggling students need most heading into each grade. That is exactly what we teach.

About Noah
Noah Tabibnia
Noah Tabibnia

Noah is a senior at YULA High School and a Maimonides alumni who has been tutoring middle school students in the community for over two years. He manages a small team of experienced tutors under the Top-Tier Tutors name, all vetted and trained to work with struggling students. Noah built this summer program directly from conversations with the heads of the math and English departments at Maimonides, stays in contact with students' teachers throughout the year, and runs every intake evaluation himself to make sure each student gets the right plan from day one.

Simple, Transparent Rates
Group Sessions
$50
per student / per hour

Small groups of 2–4 students. Held at a local facility. Min. 2 students to run.

Individual Sessions
$70
per hour

One-on-one at your home. Fully personalized to your child's specific gaps.

Intake Evaluation — $60
Every student starts with a 30-minute Math & English evaluation followed by a 30–45 minute parent debrief. You get a topic-by-topic breakdown of where your child stands, what they need to work on, and a specific recommendation for the program. This is included before any sessions begin.
Common Questions
How does the intake evaluation work?
Your child comes in for a 30-minute untimed Math and English assessment. Afterward, Noah sits down with you for a 30–45 minute debrief — going over a topic-by-topic breakdown of the results, identifying the biggest gaps, and giving you a clear recommendation on whether group or individual sessions make more sense and what to focus on first. The $60 fee covers both the eval and the debrief.
What days of the week are sessions?
We keep scheduling flexible and work around what fits best for your family. Once you enroll, we figure out the days and times together. Most students do 2 sessions per week — one math, one ELA — and we build the schedule around your summer.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically one hour. For younger students or those who need shorter bursts, we can adjust — but an hour is the standard and usually what produces the most consistent progress.
What is the minimum commitment?
The minimum commitment is one session — 4 weeks. Families can sign up for Session 1, Session 2, or both. For individual sessions, we can also be flexible based on your schedule and needs.
What if my child only needs help in one subject?
No problem. You can sign up for Math only or English only — sessions are 1x per week in that case. The full program (Math + English) is 2x per week, one session each. You can also add a third day in either subject if your child needs more time.
How many students are in a group session?
Group sessions are kept small — between 2 and 4 students. This keeps it affordable while still allowing for real individual attention. Groups are organized by grade level so the content is always relevant.
What if we need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens — just let us know in advance and we will do our best to reschedule. We ask for reasonable notice so we can adjust the tutor's schedule accordingly.
Is this program only for Maimonides students?
Not at all. The course framework and curriculum topics were developed in conversation with Maimonides department heads because that is the community we are most connected to — but the skills we cover apply to any middle school student regardless of school. Math fundamentals and English writing skills are universal. For summer reading, we work with whatever book your child's school has assigned, so every student gets material that is directly relevant to them.
Will my child be placed in a group with students at different levels?
Groups are organized by grade level and knowledge level so that every student in the session is working on the same foundational gaps. The goal is that every topic covered in a group session is relevant and useful to every student in the room — not just some of them.
